3.1. I want to place a free alert, but I do not have a password. What do I do?

Ask us for a password and you will immediately receive it, free of charge. Then follow the instructions on how to get a free alert.

You can ask for your free password here. If you later decide to advertise with us, you can use the same password.

3.2. I want to place a free alert and I already have a password, but I can not log in. What is wrong?

There are two possibilities:

  1. We can not find your password or email address in our database;
  2. Your browser does not accept "cookies".
  1. If we can not find your email address or password in our database, this usually means that you have made a spelling mistake, or used the wrong email address. Check the spelling and make sure that you have entered the email address that you used when you applied for your password. It is easiest to "copy" (mark and press Ctr+C) and "paste" (mark and press Ctr+V) your password and email address from the confirmation email that you have received from us. Check "Remember", and you will be logged in automatically on your future visits, without filling in your email address and password again.
  2. If your browser does not accept "cookies", you can not log in.
To enable "cookies":

-with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x:

  1. Select the "View" pulldown menu
  2. Select "Internet Options"
  3. Click the "Advanced" tab
  4. Scroll down the list of options to "Security" (marked with a padlock symbol). Beneath, you'll see three options for "Cookies". Select either "Prompt before accepting cookies" or "Accept all cookies".
  5. Click "OK"
-with Netscape Communicator/ Navigator 4.x:
  1. Select the "Edit" pulldown menu.
  2. Click "Advanced"-the word itself, not the "+" next to it.
  3. Select either "Accept all cookies" or "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server". "Warn me" may be checked or unchecked.
  4. Click "OK"
-with Netscape Navigator 3.x:
Navigator 3.x does not have a way to disable cookies, so you should be able to log in regardless of your settings. However, you may be shown a cookie alert each time you log in. To get rid of the alert, you can follow the instructions below.
  1. Select the "Options" pulldown menu.
  2. Select "Network Preferences"
  3. Click the "Protocols" tab.
  4. Under the "Show an Alert Before" section, uncheck "Accepting a Cookie".
  5. Select "OK"
-with Opera (most versions):
  1. Select the "Preferences" pulldown menu.
  2. Select "Advanced"
  3. Under the "Logging" section, check "Cookie Logging".
  4. Click "OK"
